Build and debug systems
Reason about codebases, state, queues, idempotency, data quality, observability, and failure modes.
An entry-level academy for technical operators who can reason from code, communicate clearly, and learn Blue Lake's method from the ground up across real US real-estate workflows.
Blue Lake is the B2B revenue layer in a US real-estate operating system. HomeEasy is the B2C demand channel. The role sits between software, customer communication, data, and revenue operations.
The title is not a software engineer title because the job is larger than coding. The technical bar is high because the operator must own agentic workflows, debug production behavior, and reason from systems without waiting for a narrow task list.
This is an academy-style entry-level cohort. Blue Lake is not evaluating experienced or lateral hires for this role at this time. The point is to train unusually strong early operators into our way of thinking, building, writing, and owning revenue.
Reason about codebases, state, queues, idempotency, data quality, observability, and failure modes.
Understand where the money is made, find leakage, and move the next commercial step yourself.
Write and speak clearly with renters, buildings, counterparties, and internal operators.
Use AI to accelerate authorized building work. Do not use it to fake understanding.
Your first screen is whether you can learn a business from incomplete materials and form a point of view. Packet I is public; later packets cover the build screen, live no-AI fundamentals, commercial simulation, and paid sandbox trial.
If you are seeking an experienced-hire or senior lateral role, this is not the right opening. Strong experienced candidates may be impressive and still be outside this cohort.
Everyone who advances can code. The assessment looks for architectural judgment, debugging discipline, and whether you understand what your code is doing when AI helped produce it.
Clear English reasoning matters because the work is US-facing and context-heavy. We test whether you can explain tradeoffs, write plainly, and reason in the business language of the workflow.
Read an unfamiliar service, identify state boundaries, patch a bug, and explain the risk.
Implement a scheduling or matching primitive with complexity analysis and tests.
Diagnose a failure from logs, schema, and event traces before proposing a fix.
You receive messy lead, building, and commission snippets. Build a small service or notebook that ranks next actions, explains the evidence, and flags missing data.
Shortlisted candidates complete a live oral screen without AI: data structures, concurrency, databases, debugging, and system design. You must be able to reason under your own power.
A strong application is specific. It shows what you built, how you think, where the revenue is, and what you would do first.
This application is for the entry-level academy cohort only. Do not submit as an experienced-hire candidate; portfolio links alone will not satisfy later technical screens.
The form creates a candidate record for the Hiring Captain. If the endpoint is unavailable, email hr@homeeasy.com with the subject BlueLake Revenue Operator Application.
