# 04 - AI And Integrity Policy

AI tools are allowed for authorized building work.

AI tools are not allowed to fake understanding, fabricate experience, or manufacture correspondence.

The role also tests whether the candidate can explain their own thinking in clear English under live pressure. AI-polished writing is not enough.

## Allowed

- Use AI to brainstorm implementation options.
- Use AI to help write tests.
- Use AI to review code.
- Use AI to summarize public materials you actually read.
- Disclose where AI helped.

## Not Allowed

- Submit work you cannot explain.
- Invent experience, credentials, references, or project details.
- Use AI during the live no-AI fundamentals screen.
- Send us fake correspondence or generated artifacts presented as real work.

## How We Test This

- Follow-up questions about the candidate's own submission.
- Live modification of the candidate's code.
- Oral technical screen without AI.
- Debugging from raw records, not from summary labels.
- Questions that require admitting uncertainty rather than guessing.
